Arthur

This is one of my neighbors, Arthur. He's 72 and tells stories about how his younger days were passed by life on the farm. He asked if he could use a razor to shave his face. I told him he could if he would first let me take some portraits of him. He agreed and sold me his soul in exchange for a clean-shaven face. So this is Arthur, soul slowly diminishing.

You have captured his soul but in a good way. Your portrait shows us the sadness along with an acceptance of life and loss (what I see anyway). There is also a sense of beauty that you have captured in the light and shade and detail of the wiskers. A reflection of the beauty we should look for in every face, and the dignity of every life. Thanks for sharing your talent and Arthur's soul.
